One of the most important things I look for when dining out is whether or not I feel comfortable at the restaurant. No one likes eating at a stuffy, pretentious establishment where you don’t feel like you can be yourself! That’s why I love Tommy’s Italian American Grill. Whether you’re there for brunch, lunch or dinner, Tommy’s has mastered the art of making their customers feel at home. From the knowledgable and welcoming staff, to the awesome service, the modern but comfortable atmosphere, and delicious food, my experience at Tommy’s couldn’t have been better. My waitress was unbelievable and definitely knew what she was talking about, especially when it came to the food. She gave me some great recommendations!

I was there for brunch and their menu is impressive. When most people think “brunch”, they don’t immediately think of Italian food. Tommy’s aims to change that. I started with the Arancini – which was a parmesan risotto with pepperoni rolled in bread crumbs and fried to a crispy, golden perfection! It was served on a bed of pomodoro sauce and topped with fontina cheese sauce. And I’ve gotta put this in bold print: it was nothing less than perfection.

Just to get the full experience, I moved on to their brunch menu. The Italian Crab Cake Benedict (two of their house-made crab cakes topped with grilled capicola ham, two poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce) and the Mexican Lasagna (three layers of corn tortillas with cheddar and mozzarella cheese, chicken and steak fajita meat with house made tomatillo, chili con carne and sour cream sauce that is finished with a black bean and corn salsa and two sunny side up eggs) definitely did NOT disappoint. While I was sitting there gorging on my delicious food, someone walked by with their famous Breakfast Pizza and let me tell ya, I will be ordering that next time! Honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on Tommy’s menu, even their drink menu. I only tried two drinks but both were fantastic: The Poinsettia and The Bloody Mary.

If you’ve never been to Tommy’s, you should definitely check it out. Stylish, warm, comfortable and casual – it’s got it all!
