A little Sparkle and Cinco de Wino, who doesn’t like that? And believe it or not, those are two kind of drinks you can enjoy at Waters Edge Winery. I couldn’t get over how amazing their champagne is and the name just says it all – Sparkle! It was so bubbly and light – it tasted like candy! Sparkle sold me and it was the best tasting champagne I’ve had.

Let’s move on to the wine and talk about Cinco de Wino (which will be represented at The Hangover Brunch, btw!). The Cinco de Wino is a Spanish Red Blend that is lush and hedonistic with big-bodied red grapes. It’s a great pairing of 5 spanish varietals. Black and red fruit characteristics, anise, cola, and pepper. I like a good red blend and if you do too, then make your way to their table! Another good red wine you’ll be sure to enjoy is the Duo, which is a Cabernet and Merlot. It’s a dynamic duo of notable grapes with a perfect score of medium tannins, bold body, notes of smokey oak, and black cherry. And last but not least, there’s the Excabular. Excabular is a Cabernet Franc that is a thin line between spice and fruit: raspberry, currant, black pepper, and fresh mint. Waters Edge Winery has so many red wines to offer. Trust me when I say that you can’t go wrong with any of them!

For all you white wine lovers, Waters Edge also has a big selection and will be serving white wine at The Hangover Brunch. I’m not much of a white wine drinker, but I found a white wine that I truly enjoyed: the Vin-YAY. The Vin-YAY is a California Viognier. It has an aromatic, fragrant lemongrass and citrus flavor with a touch of minerals. It also includes orange blossom, mango, honeysuckle, rose, and soft- bodied flavors. This white wine would go great with sushi, stews, and soft cheeses.

I was super impressed with the atmosphere at Waters Edge, and the service was fantastic. It’s very open, comfortable, and relaxing. Doesn’t everyone need a good happy hour where you can just relax and enjoy great wine?! Waters Edge Winery also has live music with ON A WHIM, the first Fridays of each month. The live music is from 7-10pm, and the doors open at 6:30pm with a $10 cover charge to get in. Also on April 29th, Waters Edge will be at the finish line of the OKC Memorial Marathon serving Mimosas 2 for 1, and their hours are 6am-4pm that day. You better run quick to be the first to get a yummy Mimosa! You can find Waters Edge Winery’s wine in restaurants and liquor stores all over the great state of Oklahoma! They will be participating in The Hangover Brunch, April 22nd, at the Farmer’s Market downtown. So buy your tickets people – you don’t want to miss this!! You can buy tickets at okcsundayfunday.com
